This application is designed to teach you how to find a literal expression.
For example, if I have a formula A = BxC,
- I also have the literal expression of A, → (A = .....),
- This means that I express A in terms of B and C.
- Knowing the values of B and C, I can calculate the value of A.
- I can write 3 literal expressions, → (A =.... , B =.... and C =.....).
If I have 3 quantities in my formula, I also have 3 literal expressions.
Here for the literal expressions of A, B, C we would have respectively: A=BxC, B=A/C and C=A/B
To find a literal expression, we simply start from the original formula.
There is only one rule to follow: perform the same operation on both sides of the equal sign.
Basic Formulas:
X + A = B
X - A = B
X / A = B
X x A = B
A / X = B
